I like this 1974-75 recording by Pascal Roge (and NOT Angela Hewitt as previously stated by one reviewer). The quality is fine and clear on my copy, so I dont understand the other reviewer's negative opinion on this, and besides - any exaggerated stereo spacing would be unnecessary here- a piano keyboard is only SO wide. Dynamic and flowing performance, smart tempo choices throughout.

The best recording of Ravel's complete solo piano music, this includes famous works such as Pavane for a dead infanta, Gaspard de la Nuit, Le Tombeau de Couperin and less well-known works. This extraordinary composer, who fused jazz (he was influenced by Gershwin), fairy-tales and craftmanship so perfect that Stravinsky accused him of being "only a Swiss clockmaker" was one of the greates composers for the piano. Hewitt's combination of passion and precision, which makes her such a superb interpreter of Bach, magnificent here.

Me and my wife love this Ravel cd very much.Ravel's piano works are here in the hands of a complete and great master on the piano by the name Pascal Roge.I don't know of any one better to play these wunderfull works to musical ears.It all blends in so beauitiful.
