I really love this CD.
Pavarotti sings really well on this set. Recorded between 1973-1980 he proves to be singing in his prime. There is Turandot, Boheme, Tosca, La Fanciulla del West, Madama Butterfly and Manon Lescaut highlights on this disc. The very best arias are all here, with especially generous extracts from the Madama Butterfly set with Karajan and Freni, "Viene la sera", lasting for 15mins 20secs, and also the Tosca set, "Mario!Mario!Mario!" lasting 14mins 32secs. All of the tracks are very good, well chosen and well sung. Overall this gives a very good insight into Pavarotti's talents and will no doubt leave you wanting to investigate more of his work.
