My word. I picked this up because I'm a big fan of Fugazi, Ministry and Minor Threat (yeah my taste in rock is a little schizophrenic. Eh, what can you do?) and it blew me away. This is Ian Mackaye (that's Muck-eye, not Mac-Eh, capiche?), Al Jourgensen and Paul Barker (I think that's it, the CD doesn't have a line up) jamming together for 6 tracks, and cooking up a blend of mid pace hardcore punk and pared-down industrial metal that sounds like a cross between Black Flag and early Killing Joke. The opener Man Should Surrender is one of the finest tracks rock music has to offer, so catchy I bet even Britney Spears fans would have trouble not nodding along, and the rest of the CD isn't too shoddy either. Bang your head. You know you want to.

Well, this really is good. But then you can't expect anything bad from the man behind Minor Threat and Fugazi.
This is half an hour of industrial metal at its best.
The EP's best track is absolute stunner - I Will Refuse. I love this song, from its two minute long bass intro to the craziness of the distorted verses. Its great!
Buy this EP while you still can, its gonna be rare soon.
If you like this, check out anything by Minor Threat, Fugazi and the Beastie Boys. They all rock serious.

There have been many sideprojects from industrial giants, Ministry. Pailhead are one of them. What makes them stand out from the rest, though, is that they feature Fugazi/Minor Threat frontman, Ian MacKaye on vocals!

"Trait" is the only thing the 'band' released, and it appears to be increasingly difficult to get your hands on a copy now, since its release back in '88, so you could do much worse than to do so now.

The EP is a relentless mixture of industrial and hardcore, taking the best bits of both and fusing them seamlessly together.

Basically, its the gods of industrial fronted by the god of hardcore punk. If you are interested in either genre, this is absolutely essential listening. 'Nuff said.
