Don't be fooled. This album is nothing of the emo that AFI has evolved into. Most current AFI lovers will hate this album. But I must admit, this is better than the Sex Pistols. I get the feeling that might get me shot...
This album has some great things about it. My personal favourtie are the occasional bass solos at the beginning of the song, bringing out the true heart of any rock band. All the riffs are catchy, and the songs are short and fast paced. To be honest, I hated this album when I first got it and now, five years on its always at the top of my CD stack. I can't get enough of it. Like every good album, the best thing about it is that every time you hear it you find something new. I don't reccomend this to everyone, but anyone who like bands like the Sex Pistols should try this out.

I've just got this album and I have to say that I am really suprised just how good it is(being their first album and all). If you have heard 'Very Proud' then this is pretty much in the same style - just better. This album has lots of classic AFI songs(Highschool footballhero, Wanna get a mowhawk ect.) Even though Afi have made real progress through in thier sound through each album, this still gives a strong indication of the power they are now known for.Phew...

Although I love AFI i really dislike this album. There's nothing about it that appeals to me. Davey seems to 'yap' out lyrics over some half-hearted guitar riffs that make up some really average songs. It certainly dosn't compare to the later albums. AFI were wise to change their sound, they do seem far more comfortable with their neo-goth image and the addition of Jade and Hunter have completed their musical unit.
