As an opera virgin, I found this CD to be enormously enjoyable, and a gentle introduction to the complex operatic world. I was about to embark on my first trip to the opera, and felt that it would be helpful to have an idea of what to expect. This fitted the bill beautifully, giving the highlights of what is a very intense and dramatic work.
I am no opera critic, but I thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous music and rich voices that featured on the CD. It also produced several shivery-spine moments!
