Mastoum Mastoum is a Persian (Iranian) drinking song that the patrons will recongize if you entertain in a Persian restaurant. Dere Dere is a slow karsilama (9/8) based on a Turkish folk song. Paint it Black is... well, it is THE Paint it Black and believe me, it's better than the original. When I dance I loose myself in it. There are a couple of good taqsims, too. The CD has feeling. There's nothing synthetic about it. You feel that these are live musicians who love their music, and they interpret it very individually. I'm a belly dance teacher and performer, member of the Mosaic Arabic Dance Network. Almeh Amira aka Christine Hall.
