Product Description

CD Description
1991 will forever be remembered as the year that alternative rock broke through to the masses. It seemed like every other week there was another great new alt-rock album to discover, such as Nirvana's NEVERMIND, Soundgarden's BADMOTORFINGER, Primus's SAILING THE SEAS OF CHEESE, and the Smashing Pumpkins' GISH, so Mudhoney couldn't have picked a better time to issue their sophomore release.
EVERY GOOD BOY DESERVESFUDGE was issued right in the middle of the whole grunge movement, and while it didn't sell in the vast quantities of some other Seattle bands' albums, it did stir up quite a buzzfor Mudhoney. Some of the band's finest moments are included here, such as "Generation Genocide", "Let it Slide", "Intothe Drink", "Who You Drivin' Now?", and "Fuzzgun '91".

5.0 out of 5 stars Punk-grunge at its best, 1 Feb 2001
This album is remarkably good, and manages to ooze marvellousness from every pore. Different from other grunge bands, and with a much more punk based influence, this band were born of the legendary Sub-pop label. This was their break-through CD and its not hard to see why. Tracks such as 'let it slide' and 'Shoot the moon' are fanastic and 'who you drivin now' is not far behind. As well as these individual songs, the album maintains a consistency throughout, and there are no real bad songs. Similar in many ways to Nirvana and some 80s hardcore, this manages to stand above the crowd of grungeyness which packed out the early 90s. Go and buy it is the general message.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Mudhoney album, 13 April 2001
By A Customer
Mudhoney were always my favourite grunge band, simply because their music was not as serious or depressive as their contemporaries (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, et al).

This album is easily their best, with masses energy and momentum, combined with tongue-in-cheek attitude and 'grade A' melody.

I tend to listen to this album mostly during the summer months as this album (with others) helped soundtrack a feel good summer, so many years ago.

5.0 out of 5 stars There's no mud on this honey!, 5 Dec 2007

(REAL NAME)
This album for me is the best album Mudhoney has ever produced. It has a rare depth which simply is not found in their earlier releases, which in no way detracts from the sound for which they have become best known.

I was about sixteen when I first heard this booming out of my older brother's bedroom and I instantly fell in love with it. More than ten years on and I still consider this album to be in my top ten of all time; not because of a failure to mature in musical taste on my part, but simply because it's that good.

I'm not going to waste my time writing a song by song account because I know how much of an off-put that can be - people writing page reviews on amazon... yawn - but I'll put my neck on the line and say that you won't regret buying this album.

I own it on cd for the sake of my ipod and purple vinyl for when I'm in the house.

Dig it

well... - masters of grunge.-

In one of their well thought albums. Sounds vague? That's because they still make noise in this album. Read more
