A great release of an extraordinary composer almost unknown all over the world. The quality and clearness of the voices are brilliant and prove that Rheinberger was an expert about the human voice. Always very interior, very simple, very lighty and human as specially shown in the Mib mass for 2 choirs and the fabulous hymn for 4 feminin voices, harp and organ.

The Cantus Missae is fabulous and the singers do it justice. The only slight criticism is that sometimes the basses do not always sing with "one voice". But overall a much better performance than the version available from the Stuttgart Choir, though that isn't bad! A must have CD which enables Rheinberger's minor genius to be properly appreciated.
