I think the most noteable thing about open up and say aah is that it's the quietest heavy metal album I've ever heard. Not, you understand in terms of its style, merely that the master volume appears to have been turned down in the mix, forcing you to up the volume a little on your CD player and then be caught by surprise when you put something else on.

As for the music it's all really quite fun, the kind of music I wished I could've gotten hold of as a kid with the exception of course of the anthemic every rose has it's thorn. This single song justifies Poisons entire career in the same way that bat out of hell justifies Meatloaf and walk this way justifies Aerosmith

Buy it, play it enjoy it, just don't take it too seriously, it's meant to be fun!

Poison were/are an bit of an enigma. They started out all lipstick and pouts, doing a fair impression of the New York Dolls - at least visually(!) - then decided that they wanted to be Bon Jovi.

This album starts them on the that road, with everything that you expect from a band called Poison in the 80's.

'Love on the Rocks'; 'Nothin' But A Good Time'; 'You're Mama Don't Dance', coupled with the obligitory ballad/single for US radio, 'Ev'ry Rose Has It's Thorn'.

10 good tracks from a band who were under-rated, but continued to grow from this album forwards.

Following Poison's first album Look What The Cat Dragged In, comes one of the most mind blowing albums in Rock. Four out of the ten songs on this album went onto Poison's Greatest Hits CD. There is no wonder when you hear this album why it went 5xPlatinum. As a true Poison fan words can't do this album justice. Quality guitar work from CC Deville once again creates a great album for Poison. Any fan who hasn't got this album, go and get it NOW
