Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

The youth culture of poor Sidney Prescott is naturally filled with the jumping beats of contemporary music. But it's a shame none of her friends ever listen to the lyrics of the songs, because there'd surely be a few less murders. Everyone's singing about the hopelessness of teen life, and the inevitability of a gruesome early death! Right off the bat with "Scream" Master P featuring Silkk The Shocker are bemoaning how "homeboys" never last long in horror movies (echoing the cameraman's feelings). You'll find D'Angelo's "She's Always In My Hair" which opened the movie, but will be hard-pressed to work out what then went where. Even Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds have made "Red Right Hand" unrecognisable from its better usage in the first film. Because of the muddled mixing of tracks, the original Scream album is a worthier souvenir. Or if it's the music composed specifically for the films you're after, then seek out Scream 1 & 2 by Marco Beltrami. --Paul Tonks

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Film, Great Soundtrack, 10 Sep 2000
By A Customer
Like many films the soundtrack is vaguely represented to the film, where in this case at least half of the songs were noticeable in the film. Many of the groups to the average british music fan will be unheard of, but nevertheless it still is a great album. I prefer the rock songs by Collective Soul, Everclear, Tonic and Less Than Jake compared to the rap songs. But even these seem to grow on you. Also D'Angelo offers a superb RnB track which is noticeable at the start of the film. Ear 2000 is David Arquettes group and the song is suprisingly good and ends the album nicely. Overall i would say this is one of the best soundtracks i have ever brought.

2.0 out of 5 stars nothing special but a few good tracks
The sequel soundtrack is one of the worst I have bought. It starts off with a couple of pap rap tracks that I skip over straight away and carries on with plain boring American... Read more
