5.0 out of 5 stars Only bettered by the live performer !, 16 Oct 2003
Anyone who has seen Brian McNeill live knows that he deserves 6 stars for his showcase performances - his workshop at Cambridge Folk Festival this summer was one of the weekends' highlights for me - and for someone who was complaining that 30 years ago you couldn't get anyone to teach you how to play in the traditional Scottish fiddle style he seems to have come on tremendously.
In some ways this is a very old-fashioned record - there may be an electronic keyboard, some of the stringed instruments might only have been invented in the last 30 years, but at its heart this is just a superb musician, singer, and songwriter, with a few friends, performing his craft to the best of his ability.
