Gett Off was released during a high point in Prince's career. I was a big fan, obsessively collecting LPs, videos and singles, but this track still took me by surprise. There aren't many harder grooves in Prince's arsenal. A crunching beat and bassline, matched with screeching horns and some nasty vocals make this my favourite release by Prince's NPG incarnation. The remixes/B-sides are also pretty much essential tracks if you like the funk. Violet the Organ Grinder is one of those b-sides any fan will love, like 200 Balloons or Escape. Play these tracks at a party and you'll raise some eyebrows - they rock!. If you like dance music, my advice is buy this one.
