I am a great fan of Mark Knopfler. As the frontman of the Dire Straits, as a solo artist and a brilliant soundtrack composer. Having known some of the tracks before (from the collection CD: Screenplaying) and reading the abstract of the film itself, there was not much suprise the music is highly melancolic (if not depressing). This album is the most classical-like among Knopfler's soundtracks, even the guitar has lost its "ruling position". As a whole, this is a perfect CD. Why I mark it 4 stars then? It is not a music for "anytime, anyhow". You have to be in the right mood to enjoy it and it slightly reduces its value.
