4.0 out of 5 stars Not the original but ok..., 8 Feb 2004
By Glitchmaker (Portugal) - See all my reviews
When I bought this cd a few years ago i thought it was the OST of this great movie.(DOH!!!!) After the inicial shock of discovering the truth, I realized that it is a good adaptation of the original, taking in consideration the limitations of being a orchetral adaptation, with the use of fewer eletronic sounds. The Cd is good enoth to make us close our eyes and picture the ambiance of the movie. From the dark feel of the City in the "End Title" score, to the sweetness of "One more kiss, dear". If you dont want to spend too much in the OST, this is a better(less expensive choice). But if you are a purist, and you are not satisfied with less than the original better not take it. You have been advised!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Adequate rendition of Vangelis' flim score, 23 Jul 2005
By Lukas Mariman (Berchem, Belgium) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
For many years this was THE official Blade Runner soundtrack album, since for reasons which are not very clear, an actual Vangelis album did not appear until 1994, which is a good 12 years after the movie was first released.

This rendition of Vangelis' music by the New American orchestra is by itself not bad at all. It's pretty short though and leaves out a lot of music while at the same repeating some of the major musical themes, such as the brilliant End Titles.

But what's on it is really not that bad. Now that we have a real Vangelis soundtrack album, this has become a curiosity album, for the BR fans out there who want it all.
