5.0 out of 5 stars Grab your bass!, 1 Oct 2009
By CJ Mann "Dr Jazzburger" (Manchester, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Well, it knocked my socks off when I bought the vinyl in 1978. On a well-mastered CD it knocks them off even more in 2009!

If you like soul, funk and jazz-funk, this delivers. With Quincy Jones behind the desk you'd expect it to be a quality production and it is.

If you like to dance, 'Ain't we Funkin' Now' will have you shakin' everything and you won't care where... If you play bass and/or percussion, 'Streetwave' will drive you just about nuts. Harvey Mason keeps it tight and very tough on this song - on the whole album in fact.

Superlative - a short and sweet album that says so much more than some of these 80-minute-give-em-what-they-paid-for bits of candyfloss.

Yeah, I know there's a recession - but soul fans, improve your life with a copy of this gem.
