This album is a thought provoking emotional roller coaster with fantastic music built around lyrics that mean something. It's hard to pick out certain tracks as its an album which is a complete story from start to finish so certain tracks are only snapshots and don't mean as much without the rest of the album - however, Watching TV and Amused to Death are my favorites. If you like albums which are more theatre than just music, put your headphones on and listen to this one - you won't be disappointed.

Amused to Death is really a very nice album. Released in 1992 it is the latest studio album by Roger Waters, the man behind a lot of masterpieces of Pink Floyd.

This album has some outstanding tracks such as Perfect Sense, What God Wants part 3, and the last three songs, Three Wishes, It's A Miracle and the titel track Amused to Death.

In part it has the same sound and feeling as The Wall and it is much better i.m.o. then Radio K.a.o.s or The Pros and Cons. ATD has amazing guitar work by Jeff Beck. Waters also uses his trademark soundeffects as the central figure the monkey(who is us) is watching tv and switching from one channel to another and gets confused.

This Der Spiegel rerelease is a nice addition to any collection. Very much recommended to a Floyd or Waters fan.

This is easily the best concept album from Waters yet. It is amazing to see that after 15 years, the snapshot of the mankind, Waters depicted in this album still applies. (Short of Leonard Cohen's "The Future" perhaps) ...Dare I say, this is arguably Waters at his best, including his Pink Floyd years.
It would be pointless to recommend this album to all Pink Floyd fans, since they all will have listened to it by now.
