Amazon.co.uk Review
It has often been noted what a plum role
Quantum Leap's Sam Beckett was since Scott Bakula got to play just about every kind of character there is--for both men and women! It was also an amazing series for a composer to work on, with plenty of episodes requiring song adaptations and stylistic pastiche. But someone necessarily had to make tough decisions about what could and couldn't fit on one disc representing five years of music. This album is pretty comprehensive, though, featuring essential highlights such as the "Medley from Man of La Mancha", where Bakula's singing talent is put to best use, and "Alphabet Rap" where Dean Stockwell's isn't (and is all the funnier). Ray Bunch plays in the western, horror and political thriller genres here with suites from "The Last Gunfighter", "Blood Moon" and "Leaping On A String" (a fine John Williams nod). After showing this much flexibility you're left wanting more. But what you get instead is a 12-minute interview with Bakula, the only thing that mars this otherwise excellent soundtrack.
