Throughout the '80s and early '90s, New York City-based thrash leaders Anthrax issued a host of singles in Europe. Manyof the b-sides were not available elsewhere--few ever saw the light of day in the band's homeland. But 1991's b-side compilation ATTACK OF THE KILLER B's collects almost all of these rare tracks, as well as live recordings and other songs recorded especially for the compilation.
Highlights include spirited covers of Kiss's "Parasite", the Ventures' "Pipeline", and Discharge's "Protest and Survive", a collaboration with Public Enemy on its "Bring the Noise", plus re-recordings of tracks originally cut by the Anthrax side-project S.O.D., "Milk" and "Chromatic Death". ATTACK OF THE KILLER B'sis an indispensable addition to the collection of any longtime fan.

Anthrax, Attack of the Killer B's - Back in 1991, Anthrax released the album "Attack Of The Killer B's" that featured unreleased material and B-Sides that were recorded over the band's past three-and-a-half years. Some of the material was released on "Penikufesesin", an E.P. available in Europe and Japan. Some of the tracks were recorded specifically for the album's release, and some of the tracks are just previously unreleased obscure tracks.

The album was compiled and released to enable fans to hear all the hard to find tracks that are mentioned from time to time on the music scene.

The album is a must-buy for any fan of Anthrax, containing twelve tracks that you will struggle to hear any other way.

A collection of B sides. Rerecordings of old S.O.D. material. What more could an Anthrax fan want?! Theres a lot of humour on this CD with songs like Milk, and the ballad about a woman who gets hit by a truck, N.F.B (Dallabinikufesin). Theres a new version of Anthrax's biggest selling single I'm The Man called I'm The Man'91. It's heaver thatn the origional and sounds more polished. Scott Ian the guitarist sings alot on this album too. He shows he has what it takes in the heavy as Hell song Protest And Survive. The biggest attention grabber on this CD is probably the song Bring The Noise with Anthrax teamed up with Public Enemy. This song is an excellent example of how rap/metal should sound. It was the origional rap/metal song (apart from I'm The Man), and is deffinatly better than the rap/metal that pollutes our ears today. This was the last album (not counting the live album and compilations) with Joey Belladonna on vocals. This was the end of an era but the beggining of a new, great 3 albums with John Bush of Armoured Saint taking over.

Anthrax were something special in the 80's and early nineties, a metal band who displayed a sense of humour in a fair few of their songs without descending into all out crassness or Spinal Tap metal parody, but also turning out thrash/speed monstahs, and some political stuff too.

This collection of B sides from back in the day before CDs took over from vinyl contains a whole bunch of tracks that display the range of Anthrax's ideas from the time. From the opening track "Milk (Ode to Billy)" a song about the need to buy milk ;-) through their thrash version of Public Enemy's "Bring the Noise" to the humourous and angry political effing and blinding of "Startin' Up a Posse" Anthrax produce the goods. There are a couple of live tracks "Keep it in the family" and "Belly of the Beast", plus the old favourite "I'm the Man '91" which will go around your head for days giving you a good chuckle.

Definitely worth grabbing if you don't already have most of the tracks, and still worth getting your paws on even if it is just for the one or two tracks that have slipped past you over the years.
