5.0 out of 5 stars Flying Saucer Attack - 'New Lands' (Drag City), 14 Sep 2007
FSA was, by this point just one member - Dave Pearce for Rachel Brooks had already left. FSA was based in Bristol, UK. How I first became aware of FSA was when I heard our community {no format} radio station play "Forever" at 3 am. I knew I wanted to obtain a copy of this CD {a true keeper}. The opener "Past" is great, but it ends all too suddenly. Tracks "Present", "Up In Her Eyes" and "Respect" seem to fuse together with Syd Barrett-like vocals and some noisy feedback. "The Sea" is a very cool psychedelic cut. So, how would one describe Flying Saucer Attack's sound? Perhaps tidbits of Floyd, Legendary Pink Dots and some complexity of Can. In my opinion anyway, this is one of the best drone CD's ever made. Right along with their self-titled debut and live impossible-to-find 'In Search Of Spaces'. Essential.
