i was recommended this because i liked don caballero and slint, and hoover. I was not disappointed.

This is a band from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. They are basically an active uni band, recording good complex tunes, but like the bands said above, they use all their instruments as an equal. no twelve bar guitar solos here.
Sadly like all great bands you are predominantly in the minority are kept underground by the amount of rubbish that is released.

When I first heard Polvo I was immediately attracted to their originality.

To the casual listner the tracks are misconstrued, but on listening more closely you begin to appreciate the intricacy of the song structures and guitar riffs.

I bought both 'Cor-Crane Secret' and 'Todays Active Lifestyles' . If you're a first time Polvo buyer go for Cor-Crane Secret. It's the most easily accessible of the two. Once you've had a dose of that, you'll be ready to fully appreciate Today's Active Lifestyles.

Pity they split in '97 but then again, all good things must come to an end.
