This is a review of the performance on this disc (3 stars) and not of the music itself (4-5 stars).

If you like your Part raw and rough-edged, then this is the version for you. The playing is good, the interpretation sound, but there are some points where a re-recording would not have been amiss. Bela Nagy, the solo violinist is very good.

The sound quality of this CD is good but could be improved, but you cannot really complain at the price this CD is offered.

Part's music is hypnotic and, in my view, deeply spiritual. It will not however be to everyone's taste.
