This is a very good and enjoyable Mahler 7. Halasz takes a dark view of the symphony and a dark atmosphere pervades each of the five movements. Halasz gives a resolute character to the work and also lets the work speak for itself. The digital sound is very good and it is easily as good as Bernstein's 1965 recording.
