Jeno Jando's Beethoven piano sonata series is one of the great all round successes in the Naxos catalogue. Volume 6 in the series is especially good value, presenting sonatas from Beethoven's early, middle, and late periods. Jando has the resources to meet the demands of the later works, and articulates the earlier sonatas with distinction.

The Naxos engineers have not always been successful recording the piano. These early endeavours (1988), however, are faultless. Just listen to how realistic the series of staccato chords that begin Track 5 sounds!
