5.0 out of 5 stars Top notch latino funky jazz with stunning vocals....., 10 Dec 2002
I had heard of India through her work with MAW and was already a big fan of her vocal talents. On this album she really goes to town, along with Tito Puente who's amazing hands work the vibes like a dream. The Count Basie orchestra provide the perfect accompaniment, big double bass sounds and every other instrument you could hope to hear on one album. The title track gets straight in to it with Indias vocal gymnastics over a range of 4 octaves and a very catchy number, be warned; If you listen to this tune before work you will be trying to sing it all day. More quality tunes follow including an upbeat Love for Sale and highly melodic Crazy He Calls Me. For me the highlight is a version of To Be In Love, the tune that she enjoyed success with Masters at Work. From then on the standard is set and it doesn't falter once. All in all a great purchase, tunes that I will still be listening to in 10 or 20 years time.
