5.0 out of 5 stars Superb modern classical music that's more than a soundtrack, 2 April 2002
Preisner composes music that stands on its own - stands out on its own. The fact that it accompanies a film is almost incidental, this music is beautiful in its own right. Sensitive, moody, touching, soaring, soulful...this composer ranks amongst the greats but is still largely ignored by the stubborn, narrow minded traditionalists. This CD is a bit on the short side, barely half an hour, but at this price, who's complaining? I bought it in France before the film had even been released and I'm still playing it 9 years later and still love it.
