This is unmistakably a great piece of work. It is music full of pathos, emotion and a characteristic scent of melancholy that comes to meet the complex and sad psyche of Julie (performed by Juliette Binoche) in a very distinct style.

The main theme triggers off mainly a blend of sad feelings, but also hope. The lyrics the Chorus sings are taken from the Bible, and they are simply imposing.

The Chorus sings in Greek
Though I speak with the tongues of Angels,
If I have not love...
My words would resound with but a tinkling cymbal.

And though I have the gift of prophecy...
And understand all mysteries...
and all knowledge...
And though I have all faith
So that I can remove mountains,
If I have not love...
I am nothing.
...
