5.0 out of 5 stars 1995, what a time to be alive, 5 Mar 2006
By radio atlantis "follow me not" (tha north of ireland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Only Heaven (Audio CD)
jesus, 11 years, that's how old this album is. still sounds as fresh and as revolutionary as it did back then (indicating it stands the test of time, but also a sad comment on music today).
first band i ever went to see live (dublin 1996, red hot chilli peppers don't count), they even meandered through the 16 minute masterpiece that is 'moon revolutions'. every ytack sounds like its trying to test your speakers to the limit, even the bizarre yet compelling remix of 'kissing the sun' speaking of wjicj, the cd single features an excellent remix of kts by meat beat manifesto. go figure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Indescribable, incendiary cyber-rock Genius, 23 Nov 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Only Heaven (Audio CD)
"We'll spread our wings as we get higher. Spread our wings into the fire" - Kissing The Sun.

The lyric says it all. After the relatively straight-laced (by their standards) TV Sky in 1992, Only Heaven arrived like a thunderbolt. Ignore comparisons with Ministry and Nine Inch Nails (shudder!), it really is almost impossible to describe this music without diminishing it, the only worthy comparison being Jimi Hendrix at his most white-hot and experimental. Tracks like "Speed Of Night" and the epic "Moon Revolutions" are like nothing you've ever heard before and are light years ahead of the adolescent scrawl of most "industrial" bands. Awesomely spiritual, this is visionary and utterly NEW music, so good the band were unable to follow it up until 5 years later with the relatively tame, though still great "Second Nature". Whatever your tastes, you must buy this album.

5.0 out of 5 stars More refined, eloquent and brutally poetic than before, 9 Jun 2001
This review is from: Only Heaven (Audio CD)
So they had top follow up TV Sky with another studio Album and this could hardly be bettered. Slightly more orientated to the techno side of things (but only slightly) but with their inventive, passionate and poetically lyrical slant. Yet another masterpiece from perhaps the most experimental of European Electronic / Live three-pieces. Outstanding.
