If you had to choose two of Mark Isham's finest albums, this, and the soundtrack to TROUBLE IN MIND, would have be them. MRS. SOFFEL's bass strings tug right at the heart of you, whilst HARVEY MILK's final trumpet theme renders you almost incomprehensibly moved. But it's NEVER CRY WOLF, the soundtrack that put Isham on the map, that takes the trophy. There's a glass-like serenity and purity that pervades, and matches director Carroll Ballard's vision so perfectly, that it's hard to think of a piece of film music that compares.

This album was released early on during Isham's classic period, which also saw his acclaimed solo releases VAPOUR DRAWINGS and CASTALIA. He remained a unique voice up until THE HITCHER, before Hollywood's demands took their toll. A recent return to his lower tech roots and the kind of form he showed during his multi-film collaboration with Alan Rudolph can be found on the soundtrack to CRASH, and hopefully heralds a new era.

Put your headphones on, sit near a window preferably with a view of trees and sky and experience some of the most beautiful music you will ever hear.

Mark Isham has been makeing music for years and now it is widly availible to us listeners. Mark takes the trumpet music by storm, making new age music loved by everyone. THis cd is just and example of the beauty that trumpet music has to offer. Mark's music has been in countless movies and plays, his most resent Rules of Engagment(with Sammual L Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones 2000)This cd is a must buy for new age fans around the world.
