from the moment i heard this in student bedsit land i knew that this album was defintly a one off, i have since attained every other chumbawamba album but this still stands out as their most intense/humouress/poignant. in years to come, this album will be ranked among one of the greats and would stand against anything by Zappa, Beefheart in the humour stakes, once bought listen to track 7, "happiness is just a chant away" and i dare you not to have a wry smile on your face, this album is really a "must have", i guarantee that anybody who listens to this will want a copy of their own. intelligent, thought provoking humerous material, i recently lent this album out to a friend and it was a struggle to get the cd back, it really is that good. personally one of my favourite albums of all time, its anti commercial standpoint, which at the time of release was ridiculed has only just been seen to be taken seriously with the rise of acts such as Radiohead and the anti capitalist marches. this album said it all first and best. buy this album and your life will be better

The first time i listened to shhh i was blown away i had listened to other chumbawumba tracks that were great but this was the first album that got me hooked.I played this album to death until i heard "Jesus h christ" this was the album shhh was supposed to be ,but being refused the release for all the samples (see centre notes in cd)by various large bands,the band had only the option to release the sanitized version(shhh) however the band decided to make thier own label to release the original album as it should have been. If you love this album then you will be blown apart by Jesus h christ(if u can find it)
