5.0 out of 5 stars An early piece of pop-punk genius., 18 Nov 2002
By A Customer
This has to be the classic Screaching Weasel album. Released in 1992 after the band reformed for the first time, it is musical and lyrical brilliance with an energetic sing-a-long catchiness that probably hasn't been done as well since. It has lost none of it's greatness in the 10 years since its release.

Highlights, if I force myself to list them, include their great cover of "I Can See Clearly", the mesmerising "Guest List", "The Science Of Myth" for being the only punk song I know to attempt to explain the religious spectrum (and in just over 2 mins as well!). Then there's the infectous "Teenage Freakshow", my personal favourite "What We Hate", and the fantastic title track.

But it's all good, and as much as I love the other stuff they've done this will always be my favourite SW album. Apart from Green Day, SW are probably Lookout Records' best known band, but they supercede the aforementioned band in their unquestionable dedication to the DIY punk ethic, and for that they must be respected.

A great band, and a great album that deserves 100 times the recognition it received, especially in this country. Absolutley flawless.
