...that's Kalinnikov. Not a tunesmith like Rachmaninov in full flight, but the most magical creator of atmosphere. The First Symphony is gorgeous, the Second perhaps less so but still well worth a listen. Some praise the Naxos recording more highly but to me the orchestra on that disc has too paltry a string section. This is the modern recording to have.
