An excellent short guide to all the main interesting sites in Libya and an essential aide-memoire when trying to recall what was seen at which site. There is so much to see in Libya and this book is very easy to carry around. A book to glance at before a trip and to read more thoroughly after.

easy to carry around and probably all you need to start with. when you want to go into more detail about the roman ruins get philip kenrick's tripolitania. the only criticism i have for this pocket guide book is that the map could be a lot better. the book gves a good flavour of what you will see when you get to libya. when the country opens out more, it will need to be more comprehensive but meanwhile it is a nice little mememto of your visit. mine was lost and i bought another on return because i didn't want to lose the info in it.
