2.0 out of 5 stars Old pictures & scarce information. Hardly an "insight" guide, 6 Jun 2001

The cover picture of the book is very nice and gives the image that the book might be a good read. However, once you browse through the pages, you notice that whereas the information is superficial, the pictures are very old, my guess (on the basis of having lived in Istanbul for 30 years) is that they have been taken in the 1970's. Therefore the book does not give adequate or realistic information on today's Istanbul and is not a trustable "insight" guide.
