New Zealand Insight Guide (Insight Guides) (Paperback)

In planning a 4 week trip to New Zealand, I have found that the NZ Insight Guide has been an excellent source of information. The guide is not only well organized and practical but it is also illustrated with a lot of beautiful, including full page colour photos. These photos really provide a good taste of NZ's dramatic nature and its people. They also invite you to the many things to do in NZ.

The first sections of the book describe NZ's history and background. The rest of the book covers plenty of sites to visit on the North and South Island. Far more than I could cover during my trip. I have found that the book was accurate. And what pleased me most were the maps with a clear reference to the text. This makes it really easy to find your way.

A number of NZ authors have contributed to this guide, which adds to the quality as the guide. A strong point is that the editors have succeeded in blending the different contributions into one story that really comes from the heart of NZ.

Although the guide could improve on practical information (where to stay, where to eat, travel), the NZ Insight Guide was a pleasure reading both at home and during the trip.
