Product Description

Synopsis
Contemporary Australian sculpture has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years. Many sculptors are now exploring increasingly diverse materials and structural techniques in-relation to their artistic aims, while others continue to bring new perspectives to traditional forms. This volume presents examples of recent sculpture by 41 established, mid-career and emerging artists from across Australia and features works in metal, wood, leather, glass, clay and mixed-media. The sculptures themselves vary considerably in scale - ranging from small, free-standing interior pieces through to large installations and works intended for parkland and civic locations. Featured artists include: Rodney Broad; Jutta Feddersen; Marea Gazzard; Garry Greenwood; Greg Johns; Ted Jonsson; Inge King; Maria Kuczynska; Roger Noakes; Lyn Plummer; Mona Ryder; Manne Schulze; Stephen Skillitzi; Tony Trembath; John Turier; Hossein Valamanesh; Trevor Weekes and Liz Williams.
