Synopsis
Emanuel Raft was born in Egypt of Greek and Italian background and went to Australia in 1955 at the age of 17. By the mid-1960s he had established his reputation as one of Australia's most accomplished young painters and jewellers. He travelled to England, where he made sculptures and represented Britain in international jewellery exhibitions. He also worked with master technicians in Paris, producing lithographs. This volume explores his works, many of which have been exhibited in the Australian National Gallery and several state galleries, as well as the Metz Collection and Texas and Goldsmiths Hall in London.
