Product Description

Synopsis
Stiffened cylindrical shells are encountered in a variety of structures, such as offshore jackets, hulls of submarines and submersibles, undersea habitats, storage structures, pressure vessels and the like. The overwhelming hydrostatic pressure in the deep sea environment or the wind pressure over tall structures necessitates the buckling strength o structures to be assessed accurately. The development of efficient finite element methodologies for the interstiffener and general buckling analysis of stiffened cylindrical shells has been presented in this book. The price to be paid for a fruitful buckling analysis is patience. Several solutions have to be searched.
