5.0 out of 5 stars The best book for an intro of ancient Indian maths, 30 Aug 2001
This book contains the gems of ancient Indian mathematics. If you learn these short cuts (known as 'sutras' in Indian language) you can do magic with mathematic calculations. For example you can write down the answer of 1/19 without thinking even for a second. In addition to this, this book describes the excellent contribution of Vedic Mathematics. Remember that these were done by Indians when the rest of the world were struggling even with counting numbers. For example Indians have 3 very simple and short proofs for 'Pythagorus Theorem' centuries before Pythagorus was born. Also note that Pythagorus proof is much complex than Indian proofs.

This book is really a worth.
