This book is better suited to an artist who can already draw the general shape of a manga figure without trouble, and acts more as a reference to the muscle layout rather than as a guide to drawing step by step. There are four chapters and an introductory chapter:

o Intro - centre of gravity & skeleton
o Head variations - the muscle layout of the head at many angles
o Upper body variations - upper body muscles, arm and hand at angles
o Torso variations - poses at different angles
o Lower body variations - poses at different angles

I felt that each section was too short - some only a page with little text - and not in enough depth to be useful to someone new to drawing manga.

Good as an compliment to your 'how to draw manga' books, not as an actual drawing book. Best referred to as a book of poses and the muscle system.

'Bodies & Anatomy' isn't one of those books that you'll read through and pick up new tips - it's very much a reference book. I find myself reaching for it in those moments where I just can't figure out what a certain part of the body looks like.

It's extremely useful and accurate as well, but it's probably most useful to those who already have a good grasp of the basics - maybe you've bought a few other manga books, and want to develop the 'accuracy' of your drawings. It definitely shouldn't be your only manga guide, and especially not your first. I can imagine it's very ease to get bogged down in the details of muscle and skeletal structure

Definitely a good buy ^^

This book is very helpful in learning to draw both the basis and advanced techniques of manga bodies. It also clearly separates males and females. However some chapters were simply pages and pages of the same pose drawn from different angles, which was very useful but it did get rather boring, with little scope for making your character unique.
Very good buy if you want to draw manga!
