Single mothers, women with partners (whether married or not), students involved in long-distance relationships, large women, small women, happy and less happy ones -- they all experienced their term of pregnancy in highly individual ways. But they all had one thing in common: with virtually no exception, each was proud of the shape of her rapidly growing abdomen. Ralf Mohr's photographs prove the point: silky, smooth skin over full breasts, the laden belly, the ample bottom -- is this not the epitome of femininity?

This is a book of wonderfully inspiring and beautiful photography. Ralf Mohr has created a delightful portrait study of numerous young women whom, as the title implies, are at varying stages of pregnancy. His photography is impeccable, his lighting techniques extraordinary, but it is his hidden rapport with his models that is most striking. They are all amazingly comfortable before his camera. Their is no sense whatsoever of any uncertainty or timidity, nor is there any inflated sense if self-importance either. They just open up to him revealing their opulent and curvaceous forms as well as their true selves. There is a lot of feeling in this body of work and almost without exception every image is an exquisite portrait of pure feminine beauty.

Ralf Mohr studied graphic design with a concentration in photography at the "Fachhochschule" in Hanover. He has displayed his work in a large number of exhibits throughout Germany and abroad and has won countless awards and prizes for his photography. He currently lives in Hanover, Germany.
