Big Nudes surpasses even Newton's first book, White Women, as an artistic triumph and a powerful statement of femininity in the 21st century. That it was originally published in 1982 reflects both the timeless quality of great photography and the vision of one of the great visual artists. Big Nudes epitomises Newton's obsessions: empowered women, technical perfection and high heels (though not necessarily in that order). The resulting volume is a catalogue of stunning images, each of which is a masterpiece of composition. If you are interested in Newton or photography in general, the book more than justifies its price tag!
