As a perfect accompaniment to the popular Tom of Finland Retrospective books, comes this fine volume of muscular male artwork, Tom Of Finland, The Art of Pleasure. Due to the large size of this book, and its thickness and weight, the reproduced artwork appears on a grand scale literally from cover to cover, from black and white to colour. The book itself is broken down into five decades and is easily recognised by the gay population, to include the Queen and Trade, Lumberjack, Biker, Clone and Fetishist Years, with every image leaving nothing to the imagination, an over-exposure of the perfect male body clothed and unclothed; leather, uniform and denim in abundance. There is also a section on Tom's art submission to comics in the form of Kake and earlier creations, and interesting information on the Tom of Finland Foundation and an insight into who the man known as Tom was, with a diary of his life from 1920 through to 1991, when he died of a stroke. As the most erotic pieces of male art probably ever to be created to date, this book is a definite must, and source of reference, for the connoisseur and trainee artist to date.

What makes this book so special? Besides the images of the cliche gay macho, sailor, cowboys...?
The size of this book! I hope that you have a bookshelf where it fits in. I guess it is almost A3- format. It is also very thick, just like the provocative drawings itself. And surprisingly of all the book is a light-weight.
So expect the unexpected; just from the outside already. The images are an overview on the work of Tom, which I was familiar with. But this book, in its extraordinary printing, brings many works from magazines and other sources, combined in one book.
So if you like Toms his work; you don't wanna miss this!

This is the most comprehenisve collection of work by the master, Tom of Finland. Finely detailed and flawlessly produced, his drawings and pictures seem to jump off of the pages and come to life. A must have for any Tom fan or anyone wanting to learn why and how MEN love MEN!
