Product Description

Product Description

ARIS (Architecture of Integrated Information Systems) is a unique and internationally renowned method for optimizing business processes and implementing application systems. This book describes in detail how ARIS methods model and realize business processes by means of UML (Unified Modeling Language), leading to an information model that is the keystone for a systematic and intelligent method of developing application systems.Multiple real-world examples - including knowledge management, implementation of workflow systems and standard software solutions (SAP R/3 in particular) - address the deployment of ARIS methods.

3.0 out of 5 stars A lot of theory. Not a quick guide for a new ARIS person, 14 Jun 2001
By A Customer
I've rated the book 2 stars based on what I was expecting out of the book. I have used another release of ARIS before and at the time of this writing was working on ARIS 5.1 for a UK Telecoms Customer. Seeking to gain more information on ARIS in general, I discovered this book. Having worked in Training Management and documentation design, I can quite quickly and accurately analyse the suitability or otherwise of learning material in general. In my opinion, the book is more for Academics. Its' strength lies in it's theoretical approach. "Hands-on" Process / Business Analysts will find useful elements as well but it's certainly not a book for someone new to ARIS on the whole. I also found it weak on the methodology side of things as well, an important element in Process Analysis. That's why, based on what I was looking for, I've rated the book 2 stars.
