If you've been looking at Kellog or the Authorware manual, you'll find a lot of additional information here. These people obviously know their stuff, but have unfortunately failed to put their own learning theories about clarity and structure into practice in this publication. The learning flowline, particularly in the workshop section, is very confused. However, if you can fight your way through the overly academic and often obscure prose, the book does contain a lot of useful information about scripting, functions and variables.
