This dictionary is really set up for Turkish people trying to learn English. The English to Turkish section has the phonetic pronunciation of the word (not present in the Turkish to English section) and all the appendices are really geared for Turkish learners i.e. Common English first names. I was dissapointed as this was not what I was expecting.

This dictionary is handy for a quick reference but those wishing to learn the language in any depth will find that it is limited in terms of the number of vocabulary items included. The definitions are also too brief and there are numerous inaccuracies.

I used this book constantly when talking with Turkish friends when we only knew a little of each other's language and it was rare not to find the words we wanted. Turkish words tend to be pronounced as written so the lack of a Turkish pronunciation guide wasn't really a problem. The cover is sturdy but flexible so stands up to being put in bags and pockets, though the blue stripe did flake off eventually. Well made, and has a lot in a small package. If you need more words than this, you need a desktop dictionary.
