Product Description

Synopsis

The TAG Heuer story begins with Edouard Heuer, the son of a modest shoe maker in 1860, when he invented a new way of keeping time. Since then four generations of the Heuer family have followed in his footsteps to become specialists in chronographs and precision time pieces. Today TAG Heuer is the time keeper for Formula One motor sport, and its luxury watches are status symbols around the world. Included are photographs by Marey and Muybridge and Anne Leibovitz, among others.

3.0 out of 5 stars A glossy and slick tabletop tome, 12 Sep 2002
By Mark Friesen (Tokyo Japan) - See all my reviews
A beautiful book packed with photographs from the history of Heuer both before and after joining with TAG. Although not as in-depth as I would have liked, the book has filled in a lot of gaps in my knowledge that I could not source elsewhere. I especially would have liked to see a more comprehensive cataloging of their designs over the years. A worthy purchase, but be forwarned, Mastering Time is a big volume, and you'll need a place to put it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely useless, 4 Aug 2008
By Rafal Gajec "rafal" (London / Krakow) - See all my reviews

Are you a Heuer fan? If yes, then forget this book. It's completely useless... I mean if you fancy good sport photography, you may like it as 80% of the pics have nothing to do with watches. This book is full of black & white vintage sport photographs and only around 20 'artistic' photos of randomly chosen watches without any chronology or sense..
Recently published in Austria "Heuer Chronographen" is significantly better book, has loads of good pics of all chrono models, good descriptions, although it covers only last 40years of Heuer history.
Actually I wanted to return 'Mastering Time..', but it weights almost 3kg, so the postage cost almost as much as the book itself. so, i decided to keep it, although it's huge. Anybody wants it?
