Synopsis
This text shows how design consultancies around the world answer the nightmare brief, "what shall we do for Christmas this year?" It contains solutions to one of the oldest problems - how to reinvent ways to charm and thank clients for their business and convince them that you are the best creative resource they have. From specially commissioned bottles of vodka to pressed aluminium, from live Christmas trees to complete illuminated building facades, this book showcases ingenuity and imagination, and includes the thoughts and rationale of the designers whose work is featured.

From the Author
The nightmare brief for design consultancies around the world is ... what shall we do for Christmas this year? Festive is a collection of the coolest solutions.

Every year designers are faced with the need to reinvent ways to charm and thank clients for their business and convince them that they are the best creative resource available. From specially commissioned bottles of vodka to pressed aluminium, from live Christmas trees to complete illuminated building facades, Festive showcases the highest quality of ingenuity and wit. Both humorous and useful, it contains the thoughts and rationale of the designers whose work is featured, thus making Festive inspirational beyond the Christmas brief.

This collection has been amassed over the last 5 years and has been selected from over 10,000 creative agencies contacted regarding this project.

Work has come from all over the globe and Festive features the very best of that work. Countries represented include the USA, Canada, Russia, all across Europe, the Far East, South America and Australia etc

The global design community rallied around this project to ensure its survival and is the first book purely to cover this subject that is on release. As a partner in a Scottish based graphic design consultancy, Festive is a book written and designed by designers for designers and I believe It is a true reflection of the astonishing migration of creative ideas flowing through all the different disciplines in the creative industry during the festive season.

It is my hope now that Festive will provide a useful tool for all those designers who, like me, are driven to the verge of hysteria by the recurring festive mailer brief. It has certainly been an inspiration to me - I hope it may prove so to others.
