This is a book which does "exactly what it says on the label"- it's a manual and it's on your side. It imparts information in a clear uncluttered way with good use of contrasting type, spacing, icons and illustrations which show you what's happening on screen. Although written mainly for users of Windows only an absolute novice using a Mac would experience any confusion.The Foreword covers most of these differences and should be read in any case, as it explains how the book works. The Overview might be a bit daunting for beginners as it deals in detail with Preferences and Colour Managment etc much of which could be assimilated later on a 'need to know' basis.
The other chapters are clear and easy to understand and I wish I'd had a version of this book when I first started working with a previous version of Photoshop.
