Michelin, as always, can be relied upon to provide the traveller in France with an excellent reference book and guide. This is the map book to accompany them. All underlined towns appear in the appropriate green guide. The maps are clear and concise, and easy to read. The spiral binding makes handling the map book comfortable, with no concerns for losing pages due to bindings breaking. The book includes a large scale map of Paris and its environs.

I'm now on my 4th version of this atlas, as it really is invaluable to discover the real France. The detail is fantastic and of great use are the links to Michelin green guides and routes of scenic interest. Newer, updated versions are a must as the French don't seem to have our negative belief in new road construction. Like all maps, it seems that where you're heading for is on a page boundary. However, my biggest regret is that I bought mine at full price instead of saving money with Amazon.

It is much better than any map I have seen in the UK. The scale is perfectly OK for cycling. One minor fault is that the campsite symbol tells you the town has a site, but not where it is. You have to buy the camping guide for this information. In small towns you can work it out. Also many towns have town plans on the approaches. However in large towns it can be harder.
