Product Description

From the 1860s onwards, this title presents the accounts of the Diogenes Club - the British Empire's most secret service - whose agents solve crimes too strange for Britain's police, protecting the realm and this entire plane of existence from occult menaces, threats born in other dimensions, magical perfidy and the deep dark deadly ones.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting and gripping read, 13 Feb 2008

(REAL NAME)
My introduction to The Diogenes Club came from a mentions in a number of Sherlock Holmes stories invoving Mycroft, Sherlock's brother who lives at the club that often does secret work for the government. Basically this is a series of short stories, interlinked by the same characters who are all linked by the club.
So many genre's are explored by this novel and it pokes loving fun at them all and yet brings something of its own table.
Fans of sci-fi, Lovecraft, pulp-fiction and sci-fi will love this book and find all the stories delivered by a weird Moorcock like 60's twist.
This book also touches on characters and timelines from other Kim Newman books I think.
I loved it and am off to find some more!
